# Legal AI for in-house counsel: the contract queue, the diligence room and your own workflows

*Alejandro Cárdenas · October 31, 2026*

RuleX gives in-house legal teams one workspace for the contract queue and the diligence room. Table Review reads up to twenty-five contracts against up to twenty questions and returns one row per contract with the evidence in every cell, ready to export to Excel. The assistant reads up to twenty files per message, the Drafter writes clauses and memos in the Canvas for Word, and the team builds its own Apps and agents without code. Colombian departments also get the official Corporate Governance 360 App. Standard costs $39.90 a month per lawyer in the United States, and the trial runs seven days with no card.

An in-house team measures a tool by the queue it clears: the renewal contracts waiting for a clause check, the data room that arrives as a folder of hundreds of files, the board paper due on Thursday. RuleX is organized around those documents. It reads them together, answers with the document and the passage, builds the table and writes the deliverable in the format the business already uses.

## For an in-house team, RuleX turns a pile of contracts into a table with evidence and a deliverable.

Table Review answers the same questions across a batch and shows the evidence behind each answer. The Canvas drafts the clause or the memo and exports it to Word, the chat builds the schedule in Excel with real formulas, and the team packages its repeat processes as Apps that colleagues run. Pricing is public, per lawyer, and Enterprise adds roles and teams per matter when the department grows.

## How a legal department works a contract batch in RuleX

The batch moves through four stages, each of which hands a document to the next.

1. **Load the batch into a Project.** Create a Project for the renewal queue or the deal and upload the contracts, amendments and scanned side letters. A Project holds up to thirty source documents, and scans are read through OCR.
2. **Run Table Review.** Write the questions once: term, termination clause, liability cap, governing law. A run takes up to twenty-five documents and up to twenty questions. Table Review answers them for every contract, one document per row and one question per column, with the evidence in each cell.
3. **Open the exceptions.** Sort the table, open the cell evidence for the contracts that need a decision, and ask the assistant follow-up questions about a single agreement. Long files are read document by document so a clause on page 80 is found.
4. **Deliver in the format the business uses.** Export the table to Excel, draft the amendment or the cover memo in the Canvas for Word, and ask the chat for the board summary as slides. Describe the whole sequence as an App of the team's own, ready for the next batch.

## A legal team triages twenty-five vendor contracts before renewal season

Illustration. A legal department has twenty-five vendor agreements, some with amendments and two scanned side letters. The counsel loads them into a Project and asks four questions in Table Review: the renewal date, the termination clause, the liability cap and the governing law. The table shows which contracts renew inside ninety days and which carry a cap below the agreed threshold. She opens the evidence for six of them, drafts the notice letters in the Canvas and exports the table to Excel for the procurement team.

- A table of twenty-five rows and four columns, with the evidence in each cell.
- Excel output with real formulas, sorted by renewal date.
- Six notice letters drafted in the Canvas and exported to Word.
- The sequence described as an App of the team's own, ready for the next batch of contracts.
- The scanned side letters read through OCR and included in the answers.

## Table Review reads the batch and shows its evidence

Table Review is the official App for batch questions. You give it documents and questions, and it builds a table with one document per row and one question per column. Each cell carries the evidence behind the answer, so the lawyer opens the passage instead of trusting a summary.

A single run takes up to twenty-five documents and up to twenty columns. Templates cover commercial contracts, leases, employment contracts, corporate minutes and bylaws, and case files, and a custom design is open too. Each column has a type, such as text, number, money, percentage, date, yes or no, or a list, and each file keeps its own status, so one failed document does not hide the rest. The table exports to Excel, and the App can be shared with colleagues by expiring link or, inside an Enterprise organization, with the whole department. Table Review is available in every country where RuleX is sold.

## Contract review that stays inside the file

Upload up to twenty files in one message and ask for the review from your company's position: a clause-by-clause reading, a risk matrix, the points to negotiate. A file small enough to read in one pass goes to the model whole. A longer file is read document by document, up to sixty documents with twenty in parallel.

The Drafter then writes the revised clause, the side letter or the memo in the Canvas, asking at most three questions with selectable answers before it starts. The Drafter exports Word with native styles and PDF; from the chat, the same matter produces Excel with real formulas for obligation schedules and PowerPoint slides for the leadership update when you ask for them.

## Due diligence: a room of documents, answered with their pages

A diligence room is a Project: documents, a standing set of questions and a chronology that keeps growing. Ask for the change-of-control clauses, the open litigation and the consent requirements across the room, and each answer points to the document and passage that supports it.

In Colombia the official Apps add Due Diligence Colombia, Contract Review 360, Contract Intelligence and a legal document comparator for teams that work under Colombian law.

## Corporate governance: an official App in Colombia

Corporate Governance 360 is an official RuleX App available in Colombia, where it organizes the corporate record of a company. Departments elsewhere build their governance routines as their own Apps in plain language, for example a board-paper checklist or a minute-book review, and share them with the team.

## Your own workflows, shared with the department

The team describes a process in plain language and RuleX proposes its structure: a guided workflow with a form and review steps, a chat App with the department's own instructions, or a small tool in the Canvas. You test it on a real matter, publish the tested version and share it by expiring link or, inside Enterprise, with the department.

Enterprise organizes the department as a team: users with roles and permissions, teams and tasks per matter, team reports and workload. Apps shared with "Your firm" run inside the organization it sets up.

## What it costs next to the prices vendors list

RuleX Standard is $39.90 a month per lawyer in the United States, Ultra is $69.90, and the long terms bill five and nine payments for six and twelve months. Enterprise is priced in a conversation with the team.

Among vendors built for in-house teams, GC AI lists plans from USD 500 a month for an individual seat, with a free trial (gc.ai, 30 October 2026). Ivo, Luminance, Eudia and Legalfly lead with a demo request on their own sites, read on 29 and 30 October 2026.
