A legal AI platform:
research, case file, drafting and follow-up in one workspace

A platform is judged by what it removes: the file that has to be found, the deadline that has to be remembered, the draft that starts from a blank page. RuleX keeps the matter at the center and lets every tool work from it.

01The answer

RuleX is a legal AI platform that puts research, the case file, drafting, matters, deadlines, hearing transcription, OCR, e-signature and no-code agents in one workspace, where each module passes its context to the next. A lawyer uploads up to twenty files per message, gets answers with sources that open, drafts in a Canvas beside the file and exports Word, Excel, PDF or slides. It runs in 20 countries, with the interface in Spanish across Latin America and Spain, in Portuguese in Brazil and in English in the United States. Plans start at $29.90 a month in the United States and COP 30,000 in Colombia, with a 7-day trial and no card.

02The recommendation

To run the practice in one place, RuleX.

Because the matter is the unit of work. A file uploaded to the matter is read by the AI. A draft written from the matter returns to it. A hearing recording attached to the matter’s chat becomes a document the AI reads, and a signed PDF goes back into the matter it belongs to. Nothing is exported, re-uploaded or re-explained.

03How it works

A matter from intake to signature

Eight moves in one workspace. Each one starts from what the previous one left in the matter.

  1. Open the matterParties, court, tasks, dates and a log. The matter gets its own folder, and everything that follows is saved inside it.
  2. Upload the fileUp to twenty files per message, in PDF, Word, Excel, images, audio and video. Scans are read with OCR. Each file added to a matter is extracted once: type of document, parties, dates and obligations are pulled out, with automatic retries when a file is large.
  3. Ask, with the matter loadedThe chat opens with the file already in place, so a question starts from the documents. Research runs on top, with citations that link to the original source.
  4. Draft in the CanvasThe Drafter asks up to three questions, then writes beside the file. The result exports to Word with native styles and to PDF; from the chat, the same matter produces Excel and slides when you ask for them.
  5. Follow the proceedingsIn Colombia, RuleX checks the Rama Judicial every night and emails the morning summary. In Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia and the Dominican Republic, you look up and follow your cases from RuleX, and the movements are saved as updates in the matter.
  6. Transcribe the hearingUpload the recording or open the live microphone. RuleX separates the speakers and you give each one a role. The record is saved in your transcription history with speakers, roles and timestamps; attach the recording to the matter’s chat or add it to a Project and the AI reads it as a document, ready to be questioned or drafted from.
  7. Sign and deliverSend the PDF to up to ten signers. Each gets a link and a six-digit code by email. The sealed document carries a certificate that can be verified on rulex.org.
  8. Turn the routine into an agentThe task that repeats in every matter becomes a guided flow, a chat app or a small tool, tested on a real case and shared with colleagues through an expiring link or, in an Enterprise organization, under “Your firm”.
04A case, start to finish

A lease dispute, from the first scan to a signed settlement

A landlord’s lawyer in Bogotá opens a matter over unpaid rent. The lease is a scanned PDF, and RuleX reads it with OCR. After filing, the 23-digit case number goes into the matter, and from then on RuleX checks the Rama Judicial each night. Weeks later the hearing is recorded and transcribed; the lawyer labels Speaker A as the judge and Speaker B as the tenant’s attorney. With the transcript attached to the matter’s chat, the Drafter writes a settlement agreement from it and the file, and both parties sign it with a code sent by email.

The document you get

Signed settlement agreement (PDF with certificate)

  • A scanned lease turned into searchable text, with parties, dates and obligations pulled out.
  • A morning email with each new docket entry, and its PDF filed in the matter’s Rama Judicial folder.
  • A hearing transcript with named speakers and time-stamped minutes.
  • A settlement draft in the Canvas, written from the transcript attached to the chat and from the file, exported to Word.
  • A signed PDF whose certificate carries a SHA-256 fingerprint and can be checked publicly.

One memory instead of ten tabs

Files uploaded to a matter are extracted once and kept with it. When you ask a question inside the matter, the AI starts from those documents. When the Drafter writes, it can draw on the matter, the attachments, the project and the research together. A fact entered once stays available to every tool in the matter.

The case summary shows how the pieces connect. It lists the executive summary, current status, parties, claims, key facts, timeline, risks and next steps, and it refreshes when documents or court entries arrive: only the new material is read and added. In Colombia, the PDF of each docket entry and notice joins the matter’s folder and can be questioned like any other file; in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia and the Dominican Republic the movements are saved as updates in the matter.

Tasks, dates and a deadline that counts

Each matter carries its tasks, its dates and a log of what happened. The Deadline calculator counts a term with the holidays and the non-working court days of the country’s own calendar, and RuleX has calendars for all 20 countries. The calendar of the matter shows what is due and when, and billable hours can be tracked against the matter.

A deadline is the one fact in a case that cannot be approximated, so the count sits next to the file and not in a separate tool.

Hearings, scans and signatures belong in the matter

Hearing transcription takes audio or video up to 2 GB and six hours, or the live microphone. It labels voices Speaker A, B and so on; the lawyer assigns roles such as judge, prosecutor, plaintiff or witness, and the minutes come out with those names and timestamps. The record stays in your transcription history, and attached to a chat message or a Project it becomes a document the AI reads. OCR has read more than 30,000 scanned documents, 400,000 pages, inside RuleX. Twelve PDF tools (merge, split, compress, number pages, watermark and more) run in the browser, so those files never leave your computer.

E-signature sends a link and a six-digit code by email to each signer, up to ten, with the code valid for ten minutes. The sealed PDF carries a certificate page listing the SHA-256 fingerprints of the original and the sealed file, the method and the event log, and anyone can verify it on rulex.org. In Colombia the certificate cites Law 527 of 1999 and Decree 2364 of 2012 (compiled in Decree 1074 of 2015).

Your own agents, shared with your colleagues

Apps and agents turns a firm’s routine into software without code. A guided flow collects inputs, runs steps and stops for human review. A chat app carries your instructions. A small interactive tool covers what neither does. RuleX proposes the structure from your description, you run it on a real matter and publish the version you tested. Share it with colleagues through a link that expires; inside an Enterprise organization it appears under “Your firm” for every member.

Table Review is available in every country. Colombia has ten official Apps; nine are built for Colombian law, among them a document comparator, Contract Review 360 and Due Diligence Colombia, each for a recurring piece of Colombian practice, and Table Review runs in every country.

Teams, clients and billing with Enterprise

A firm that needs more than shared agents and projects talks to us about Enterprise: a client list (CRM), reports on the team’s workload, users with roles and permissions, teams and tasks per matter, and billing statements. Billable-hours tracking comes with Pro and Ultra as well. More than 8,000 matters and case files are managed in RuleX, and in Colombia it follows more than 7,000 court proceedings automatically.

A deadline calendar for every country

Counts follow each country’s own rules. Brazil excludes the forensic recess of CPC article 220, from December 20 to January 20. Bolivia applies Law 439 article 90: working days up to 15 days, calendar days beyond. The Dominican Republic applies CPC article 87: calendar days, with a due date on a non-working day moving to the next working one. Uruguay follows Law 15.982 article 94. Argentina lets you switch on the July recess for the years it is known, and Ecuador varies the recess by region under COFJ article 96. Venezuela counts calendar days by default under CPC article 197.

Quick answers

What you want to know.

01What is a legal AI platform?

A legal AI platform is one workspace where AI does the work of a matter: it reads the case file, researches authority, drafts documents, counts deadlines and keeps the record. RuleX adds hearing transcription, OCR, e-signature and no-code agents, and the modules share their context.

02How is a legal AI platform different from practice management software?

Practice management software stores matters, contacts and time. A legal AI platform also reads the documents and writes the work. RuleX holds matters with files, tasks, dates and a log, and the AI works inside them; firms that need CRM, roles and billing add Enterprise.

03Which file types can I upload?

PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, text, images (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC), audio and video. Scanned PDFs and images are read with OCR. A single message accepts up to twenty files.

04Can RuleX follow my court cases automatically?

In Colombia, yes: RuleX checks the Rama Judicial every night, emails the morning update and saves each entry as a PDF in the matter. In Brazil (DataJud), Argentina (JusCABA), Uruguay (IUE), Bolivia (SIREJ) and the Dominican Republic (NUC), you look up and follow your cases from RuleX and the movements are saved as updates in the matter.

05Can I build my own agents and workflows?

Yes, without code. You describe the routine, RuleX proposes the structure, you test it on a real matter, publish it and share it with colleagues through an expiring link or, in an Enterprise organization, under “Your firm”. The three formats are guided flows, chat apps and small interactive tools.

06Does the platform include transcription and e-signature?

Yes. Pro includes five transcriptions and two e-signature documents a day, and Ultra includes twenty transcriptions a day and e-signature with no daily cap. The seven-day trial lets you try both.

07How much does the platform cost?

The three plans cost $29.90, $39.90 and $69.90 a month in the United States, COP 30,000, 40,000 and 70,000 in Colombia, and have their own prices in every other market. Six- and twelve-month plans give one and three months free. Enterprise is quoted with the firm.

08Can my team share matters?

On any plan, an App or a Project is shared with colleagues through a link that expires. Inside an Enterprise organization it is published under “Your firm” and every member sees it, and sharing matters across a team, with roles, permissions, clients and billing, is what Enterprise is designed for.
